Living and “High Stool”

We produce high stools since the kitchen has become the center of the modern lifestyle these days. We value the quality of  high stools’ delicate features like dimension, height, and the shape of legs by manufacturing with natural material in a high-skilled way.

In order to make the shape compact, we are committed to a three-legged design and make both the reinforcement bar and the footrest with traditional Japanese wood joinery. For the structure to be simple yet stable, we ran numerous trial productions to ensure product quality.

The shape of the seat is designed to hold both function and compaction, yet carries a soft, modern atmosphere. The seat height is designed to be 63cm exquisitely so that it fits easily in the kitchen. 

OMUSUBI High Stool is made of prized Quercus crispula from Hokkaido, and the wood has dried slowly in the factory which required a high amount of time and work. Each stool is made delicately with craftsmanship in Asahikawa, Hokkaido.

生活和「高腳椅」

現今的生活型態漸漸轉變為以「廚房」為中心，也因此我們製作了「高腳椅」。我們使用天然素材以熟練的技術進行製作，並重視功能性的細節，例如：大小、高度、椅腳的形狀……等。

我們致力於外觀精簡的三腳設計，使用日本傳統的木構造的技術製作了能替結構做補強效果的擱腳橫桿。為了能達到簡單但穩固的結構，進行了多次反覆的試作以確保產品品質。椅面的形狀設計以保有功能性又精簡，同時也具有現代感的柔和樣式表現。座椅高度設定在63公分，在廚房裡使用是最合適的。

材料為珍貴的北海道產特選水楢木，在工廠裡慢慢地經過長時間的乾燥以及細心照料後產出的寶貴木材。同樣在北海道的旭川市裡，每一張高腳椅都是經過職人手工的精美製作。

Made with the Good Old Traditional Skill

We don’t use any metal screws on the stool since all stools are made by traditional Japanese wood joinery, where the mortise and tenon are joined to firmly anchor the legs into the solid wood seat. The wedges are made of walnut wood.

It’s a stool that combines nordic modern design with the delicate Japanese craftsmanship tradition. Out of prized wood grown for ages, a piece of long sustaining furniture is made.

使用舊有傳統的技法製作

因為是以傳統技法製作，所以一律沒有使用任何一個金屬螺絲。我們在實木椅面上開榫眼，然後在腳部上製榫來與椅面成一體，並在其中加入楔子來完整固定。楔子則是以胡桃樹的木材而製。

該椅凳使用日本的傳統技法並顧及細節設計，表現出了北歐家具的現代感。將經過長時間同自然共存培育成長的稀有木材，轉化為能夠成為長久使用的家具。

For More Glamor Over Time as You Live with Your Furniture

We have oil-finished our furniture by applying natural coating with golden flaxseed oil to ensure the wood breathe and long-term usage. There’s no coating film in oil-finished, so it will not be peeled off and can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Solid wood is a natural material that gains more defined characteristic over time. Please enjoy this piece of furniture in the years to come.

隨著共同生活的時間增添魅力

我們製作的家具為了能夠長久使用又不妨礙木材進行呼吸，於是表面以由亞麻仁油為基底的護木油做塗裝。上油塗裝的話不會在表面產生塗膜，所以不會發生剝落的情況，以擰乾的布料進行反覆擦拭後，基本上所有髒污皆能夠去除。
